Hat-Trick in the Cup Against Rochford

On 26th April 2026, Billericay U13s faced Rochford at home in a cup match, and it turned out to be a brilliant day for the team.

We produced a strong all-round performance to win 60–5 and progress to the next round. I was delighted to score three tries and assist another, helping the team secure an impressive victory.

As every rugby player knows, there is an unwritten rule that when someone scores a hat-trick, the beers are on their dad! So after crossing the line three times, Dad knew exactly what was coming. Fortunately for everyone else, he was happy to stick to the tradition and bought the post-match jugs.

While the tries were a personal highlight, the best part was being involved in such a great team performance. Everyone contributed, and the teamwork, commitment and support across the squad were outstanding from start to finish.

The celebrations continued after the match with a team BBQ, which was a great way to enjoy the win with teammates, coaches and families. These are the moments that make rugby special – working hard together, achieving success as a team and making memories both on and off the pitch.

A big cup win, a hat-trick, an assist, a team BBQ and Dad buying the beers – not a bad day at all!
